Proof-reading

If a translation

  • is destined for publication
  • hasn't been undertaken by a native speaker of the target language
  • simply doesn't feel right

Proof-reading — checking a translation extra carefully — will ensure it contains no spelling mistakes, and no omissions, mistranslations or infelicities of style.

Proof-reading can therefore provide reassurance about the quality of a translated document when quality is important.

Aplomb applies as strict criteria to our proof-readers as to our translators: we only ever use experienced proof-readers who are native-speakers in the target language of a translation. Specialist knowledge (legal, financial, technical, etc) is often required as well.
